What is Astronomy?

It is a study of planets, stars, and everything beyond this universe done through various systematic methods involving the use of science and maths. It is the most interesting and mind blending topic that has been gaining attention for millions of years since humanity has evolved.

All You Need To Know About Astronomy In India and its Origin:-

It is known that our universe is a result of collisions of some planetary objects millions of years ago known as the ” Big bang theory ” it is also a huge topic on its own to study and understand for an individual.

Existence of black holes:-

In the space far above the earth we all know there is the existence of a high gravity zone known as the ” black hole ” it’s attracting power is so high that it can pull any heavy body of any size into it, the scientific explanation of black hole is that according to physics the escape velocity near a black hole is so high that no one can escape from attracting to the black hole.

Other objects of interest:-

It consists of include planets, moons, stars, nebulae, galaxies, and comets. Relevant phenomena include supernova explosions, gamma-ray bursts, quasars, blazars, pulsars, and cosmic microwave background radiation. More generally, astronomy studies everything that originates outside Earth’s atmosphere.

Outside of scientific approach:-

Astronomy as a topic is also very recreational for human beings if it is thought apart from complicated physics and vast theories, it is so exciting to watch a planet from a telescope by sitting in a room isn’t it?.. The massive stars of infinite size look like a tiny ball from our naked eyes as seen from this earth as we can hold it in our hands.
Sun is known to be the largest star in the universe and its temperature is so high that for a human it is impossible to go even near it, it will turn into ash in a couple of milliseconds…

Sun as a parent for other planets:-

It is very well known that the sun is the main and foremost important star and radiates immense heat from itself all planets revolve around the sun it is like a nucleus around which other planets revolve like electrons due to the sun only, on earth we experience weather changes like winter and summer the heat coming from the sun helps in maintaining the temperature of overall earth.

Role of astrophysics in astronomy:-

Historically, astronomy has focused on observations of heavenly bodies. It is a close cousin to astrophysics. Succinctly put, astrophysics involves the study of the physics of astronomy and concentrates on the behavior, properties, and motion of objects out there.

The milky-way galaxy:-

The Milky Way is the galaxy that contains our Solar System, with the name describing the galaxy’s appearance from Earth: a hazy band of light seen in the night sky formed from stars that cannot be individually distinguished by the naked eye.

Telescope as a device for space observation:-

A telescope is an optical instrument using lenses, curved mirrors, or a combination of both to observe distant objects, or various devices used to observe distant objects by their emission, absorption, or reflection of electromagnetic radiation
It is the most commonly used device to have a look at planets and stars easily by human naked eyes.

Some interesting and mind blending facts:-

1. The moon is lemon-shaped- Despite its appearance in the night sky, our natural satellite is nowhere near round. In fact, the Moon is shaped like a lemon, with flattened poles and bulges on both the near and far side around its equator.

This strange shape is thought to have been created during interactions with Earth soon after its formation.

2.Clouds at the center of the Milky Way smell of rum, taste of raspberries, and are packed with booze

3.On Mercury a day lasts twice as long as a year

4.If your spacesuit started leaking, you could survive for a couple of minutes

5.Gamma-ray bursts can release more energy in 10 seconds than our Sun will in its entire life

6.Neptune has only completed one orbit around the Sun since its discovery

Astronomy will always remain a hot topic of interest for modern and civilized generation and science lovers, but our space and universe has many deep secrets which will take many million years of the human race to understand and dig out the secrets and understand fully our universe.

What are the two types of astronomy?

Since the 20th century there have been two main types of astronomy, observational and theoretical astronomy. Observational astronomy uses telescopes and cameras to observe or look at stars, galaxies and other astronomical objects.

What is called astronomy?

Definition of astronomy: Astronomy is the study of the sun, moon, stars, planets, comets, gas, galaxies, gas, dust and other non-Earthly bodies and phenomena.

Who invented astronomy?

The Ancient Greeks developed astronomy, which they treated as a branch of mathematics, to a highly sophisticated level. The first geometrical, three-dimensional models to explain the apparent motion of the planets were developed in the 4th century BC by Eudoxus of Cnidus and Callippus of Cyzicus.

Who is father of astronomy?

Nicolaus Copernicus On February 19, 1473, Nicolaus Copernicus is born in Torun, a city in north-central Poland on the Vistula River. The father of modern astronomy, he was the first modern European scientist to propose that Earth and other planets revolve around the sun.
